What do you do when you can’t get to counselling?

A form of counselling that is growing in popularity is video counselling. With no travel to consider, this is a convenient way to meet with me, whether this is your preferred form or when making a face-to-face session isn’t possible.

Video counselling takes place in real-time and is similar to face-to-face counselling as we are able to see each other to notice, read and consider body language, non-verbal cues and communication.

You will be able to have your session wherever you have an internet or mobile phone connection as I use Psychology Today Sessions, either via the app or online via a link, it is easily available and end-to-end encrypted ensuring our conversation is private.  You do not have to download the app if you do not wish to.

We will arrange a time for the session to begin as with face-to-face counselling and I will call you on your chosen app.

It is often said that you do not need special equipment for a video counselling session, although you will need a tablet or mobile phone for the app or a computer.

Your security is my priority and, unfortunately, video counselling may not be suitable for you if you do not have a private space that gives you the freedom to have our session.  It is important you can have your session with me without anyone else overhearing and be able to give your full attention to the process. (i.e., not watching telly/children or at work etc).
